Your data, plainly.
We collect the minimum we need to run the product. We don't sell your data, we don't run ads, we don't share your shopping list with retailers. You can delete your account and everything in it from your settings at any time.
What we collect
- Email address — for sign-in, account recovery, and the weekly digest if you opt in.
- Account preferences — stores you shop, dietary preferences, household size. Used to personalize recipes and the deal feed.
- Generation history — the meal plans and shopping lists you've created, so you can come back to them.
- Payment info — only if you subscribe. Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Basic analytics — page views, button clicks, and feature usage. Never tied to your email or shared externally.
What we don't collect
- Your full grocery purchase history.
- Your location beyond what you tell us.
- Financial information beyond Stripe-handled payments.
- Anything from third-party stores, apps, or other services without your action.
Who we share data with, and why
- Stripe — payment processing. Their privacy policy applies to your card details.
- OpenAI — generates your recipes from the deals you select. The prompt includes the deals and your dietary prefs; it does not include your name, email, or account info.
- Resend — delivers our transactional and digest emails (signup confirmations, password resets, weekly digest).
- Cloudflare — hosting and privacy-respecting analytics.
We do not share your data with grocery retailers, advertisers, data brokers, or anyone not listed above.
Cookies and tracking
- A session cookie for sign-in (required for the product to work).
- Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookie-less and privacy-respecting).
- We do not use Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, ad-network trackers, or any cross-site tracking.
Your rights
- Export — email us and we'll send a copy of everything we have on your account.
- Delete — Settings → Delete account permanently removes everything within 30 days.
- Unsubscribe — every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- If you're in California, the EU, the UK, or another region with specific privacy rights (CCPA, GDPR, UK GDPR), all of the rights above apply to you, plus any additional rights local law provides.
Children
Deal Meal Planner isn't intended for users under 13. If we learn a user is under 13, we delete the account.
Security
We use industry-standard practices: encrypted transport (HTTPS everywhere), hashed passwords, scoped API keys, and minimal data retention. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep yours safe.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll email registered users at least 30 days before the change takes effect. The current version always lives at dealmealplanner.com/privacy.
